As Lemberg Electric celebrates its 95th anniversary, we want to take a moment to reflect on our roots and express gratitude for the incredible city in which we began our journey.
Lemberg Electric was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the year 1928, and we are proud to remain a Milwaukee-based company today. Over the years, we have had the privilege of providing our award-winning electrical construction services to many incredible Milwaukee-based manufacturers, and we would like to highlight ten of them in this blog post.
Our hope is that by sharing a bit about their history, we can honor these companies and the important role they played in shaping the great city of Milwaukee and the world.
Harley-Davidson is an iconic and globally recognized manufacturer, symbolizing the spirit of freedom and adventure on the open road. It all started here in Milwaukee in 1903 when William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson began building motorcycles in a small shed in the backyard of Davidson's family home.
Today, Harley Davidson's headquarters are still located in Milwaukee. The legendary company has become synonymous with the American motorcycle experience and continues to define motorcycle culture and lifestyle, earning a dedicated following worldwide.
As a Milwaukee-based company, Harley-Davidson proudly represents not only the heart of American motorcycle culture but also the spirit of innovation and the blue-collar craftsmanship that defines our historic city.

Lemberg was happy to provide the electrical construction for Milwaukee Tool’s “Red Beacon” project in Downtown Milwaukee. The project included all new electrical infrastructures to support the renovation of an existing 5-story building into office space. Komatsu Ltd. is a Japanese multinational corporation that manufactures construction, mining, forestry, and military equipment, as well as diesel engines and industrial equipment. While the company’s headquarters are located in Tokyo, Japan, it also has roots along the Milwaukee lakeside.
Komatsu and its predecessor companies have a long history in this city we call home, beginning in 1884. After nearly 140 years of success and growth in Milwaukee, Komatsu opened a new location in 2023 in the South Harbor area, featuring a three-story, 180,000-square-foot office building and a 430,000-square-foot manufacturing space.
After installing an 18-foot by 70-foot brand sign for Komatsu’s previous location, Lemberg was brought in again by Komatsu to install signage throughout its new office headquarters and manufacturing facility. Learn more!
Lubrizol is a global specialty chemical company that specializes in developing and manufacturing materials like lubricants, additives, and specialty chemicals for various industries. While their headquarters are located in Ohio, their Milwaukee plant has been operational since the early 1950s.
The company is recognized for its commitment to innovation and sustainability. In their manufacturing processes, Lubrizol employs clean rooms, which are controlled environments designed to minimize contamination, ensuring the highest quality and purity of their products.

Usinger’s has been making and manufacturing nationally recognized sausage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for over 140 years. There’s nothing more Wisconsin than enjoying a grilled brat on a summer day!
Founder Fred Usinger first came to Milwaukee with his personal recipes and $400 in the late 1870s, where he soon purchased its historical Third Street location. While the historical factory has since implemented modern technology and equipment, the original ovens and recipes remain the same.
Usinger’s sausage isn’t just famous in Milwaukee but across the country. The company was even the official hot dog supplier for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, where they shipped over 500,00 hot dogs.
Lemberg’s Sign and Lighting team was happy to repair and neon retrofit Usinger’s channel-letter signage along its historical building. The signs were retrofitted with LED lamps for better visibility, better energy efficiency and more longevity. Check out more project details!

Sprecher Brewery, a Milwaukee-based craft soda brewery, is the original manufacturer of the gas-fired brew kettle. With a rich history dating back to 1985, Sprecher has become known for its quality craft beverages and innovative brewing techniques. Beyond being a local brewery, Sprecher is woven into the fabric of Milwaukee and Wisconsin, embodying the region's brewing heritage.
Voted the No. 1 root beer by The New York Times, Sprecher serves as a cultural landmark, fostering a sense of community and pride for locals. Contributing to the city’s unique brewing legacy makes Sprecher Brewery a cherished and integral part of both Milwaukee and Wisconsin.

Nestled in the heart of Milwaukee, Rexnord contributes to the city's industrial legacy and the broader global landscape, delivering high-quality products and solutions that reflect the city's dedication to precision engineering and manufacturing. A.O. Smith is a water technology company. Founded in 1874 on Milwaukee’s north side, the company started producing metal parts for baby carriages and other hardware specialties. In the early 1900s, the company entered the automobile industry and built steel frames.
Fast forward to today: A.O. Smith is now in the water purification industry. They are a global industry leader with a complete line of residential and commercial products and systems, including water heaters and boilers.
