Employee-owned electrical contractor plans month of celebrations, education and team activities as it looks ahead to milestone anniversary in 2027
BROOKFIELD, Wis. October 6, 2026) – Lemberg Electric Company, Inc., a leading electrical contractor in southeastern Wisconsin, celebrates Employee Ownership Month this October with a series of events highlighting its employee owners while kicking off a yearlong celebration of the company’s 35th anniversary as an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Lemberg established its ESOP in 1992, 64 years after the company was founded, when Gerald Lemberg retired and sold the company to employees led by Ronald Maassen, Joseph Bubacy and Thomas Perra. In 1998, the ESOP Trust became the 100% shareholder of Lemberg.
Today, employee ownership remains central to Lemberg’s culture and its approach to serving customers. The ESOP provides eligible employees with a share in the company’s success at no cost to them, with employees becoming increasingly vested over time. And as employee owners, Lemberg team members have a direct stake in the company’s performance and long-term growth.
“The importance of our ESOP can’t be overstated,” said Lemberg President Kyle Witte. “It’s a benefit, a guide, a standard of operations, and a promise all wrapped into one. Employee-ownership is a pride point that extends into every corner of our business. It’s an advantage to every employee and to every customer.”
Lemberg began its anniversary celebration Oct. 1 with an off-site event at Luxe Golf Bays, bringing employees together to recognize the hard work and craftsmanship they contribute every day.
Throughout the month, Lemberg will continue its celebration with smaller events and games designed to educate employees about their ESOP benefit and encourage camaraderie.
As part of the celebration, Lemberg is creating an ESOP time capsule that will be stored until the company’s 50th ESOP anniversary. Employees are being encouraged to contribute items that capture what it is like to work at Lemberg today, including photos, personal memories, current technology, news stories, company materials and vintage Lemberg memorabilia.
Lemberg's 35th anniversary celebration will continue throughout 2027, highlighting the people and stories behind its employee-owned culture.
And as Lemberg approaches its 100th year in business in 2028, the 35th ESOP anniversary offers an opportunity to celebrate how employee ownership has shaped the company while looking ahead to the next generation of employee owners who will carry that legacy forward.
