Work on Milwaukee Tool Red Beacon Honored During
NECA 2024 San Diego Convention

Lemberg has been awarded a prestigious 2024 Project Excellence Award by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). The company was recognized in the Commercial/Institutional Over $1 Million category for its outstanding work on the Milwaukee Tool Red Beacon project in downtown Milwaukee.

The NECA Project Excellence Award highlights exceptional work in the electrical contracting industry, recognizing projects that demonstrate superior craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication. This month, Lemberg will be honored alongside other top electrical contractors at the NECA 2024 San Diego Convention.

“This project was a true testament to the skill and dedication of our team. Completing a renovation of this scale, on a tight schedule and with zero safety incidents, while phasing construction to accommodate simultaneous occupancy, speaks to our ability to collaborate effectively and deliver exceptional results,” said Kyle Witte, president of Lemberg Electric. “We’re proud to have partnered with Mortenson Construction and Milwaukee Tool on this landmark project.”

The Milwaukee Tool Red Beacon project was a 350,000-square-foot renovation of an existing five-story building, transforming it into office space for Milwaukee Tool. Lemberg Electric provided comprehensive electrical construction services, including power distribution, fire alarm systems, cable tray, lighting controls, and lighting installations. The project was completed on an aggressive timeline, with zero safety incidents, and required creative solutions to overcome challenges such as supply chain delays and simultaneous occupancy.

Lemberg’s innovative approach included the use of prefabrication services and vendor-managed inventory to ensure efficient delivery of materials and high-quality workmanship. The project’s exposed electrical trade work, including custom-painted lighting fixtures, was a key feature, showcasing the craftsmanship that Milwaukee Tool wanted to highlight throughout their new space.

Witte added, “The Milwaukee Tool Red Beacon project presented several unique challenges, including the need to accommodate simultaneous occupancy while construction was ongoing. Lemberg’s team developed innovative solutions to ensure that completed floors were safely powered and fully operational for Milwaukee Tool staff while maintaining a secure environment for tradespeople working on floors still under construction. We also custom-painted iconic lighting fixtures in Milwaukee Tool’s signature red, adding a personalized touch that highlighted the company’s identity throughout the space.”
