The Packing House
This was a newly designed outdoor patio space for The Packing House restaurant located at 900 E Layton Avenue in Milwaukee. The project was recognized by Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson (left in image shown) as one of the winners of the Places and Spaces category of Milwaukee's Design Award. The award program showcases urban design and the businesses who contribute to the vibrancy of their neighborhoods through it.
The Packing House patio is located just off the main entrance to the restaurant and features 60,000 watts of IR heating, controllable temperature, low voltage up-lighting, outdoor track lighting, two retractable ceiling features, a new 200 Amp panel for heaters, a new subpanel for lighting and outlets. The patio also features a waterfall, speakers for music and audio, and a fireplace.
The award was presented by the Mayor in May of 2023. Lemberg Electrician Kevin Schaeffer, who performed the electrical work and is shown on the right in the image), was in attendance, along with various aldermen, city officials, Packing House General Manager Chris Wiken, and representatives from Awesome Landscape Company.
