Green Bay Packaging, Germantown

Lemberg advised Green Bay Packaging on an initial request to install a pylon sign for the new location in Germantown, WI, so that it would be visible from a nearby highway. The Signs and Lighting team performed height tests at 90, 75, and 50 feet using balloons to test visibility from both directions on the highway and at different times of day. Though an appropriate height and location were determined, municipal codes ultimately prevented the installation. But the effort earned Lemberg the opportunity to work with Green Bay Packaging and Briohn Brothers Builders on brand and wayfinding signage for their new location in Germantown.

The new sign program for Green Bay Packaging required the Signs project management team to apply for multiple variances with the city. After 4-5 months and numerous calls and signage program plan presentations to the city by Lemberg's Signs team, 3 of the 4 variances were approved. For the brand signage on the building, Lemberg's design and engineering team worked with the customer and builder to create a structure for the rooftop of the building that allowed large channel letters to be seen from the highway. With little margin for error, the placement of the rooftop sign was an additional challenge that was successfully overcome.

The sign program ultimately included a variety of sign types throughout the property.

  • The main brand monument sign features faux woodgrain vinyl laminate and LED border lighting in the company's brand green.
  • Roof-top channel letters, previously mentioned
  • Pole signs for the light poles that lined the property entry roadway and parking areas. Lemberg's designers offered several design options for the customer.
  • Blade signs to identify shipping and receiving entries
  • Freestanding wayfinding and welcome signage along the route, some with integrated magnetic sign holder for even more customization.
  • Door and window vinyl signage
  • Building-mounted wall signs of the Green Bay Packaging logo and entry identification

Overall, the program presents an informational, cohesive, and branded experience for employees, vendors and visitors right down to the exit sign wishing everyone a "safe day."
