Peak Initiative Mural

Lemberg was worked with Milwaukee community mural artist Tia Richardson to install a large mural on the exterior wall of the PEAK Initiative building located at 2480 West Cherry Street. PEAK Initiative offers a wide variety of year-round programming for Milwaukee youth designed to encourage curiosity and uncover their strengths. The mural is painted on 12 4'x8' panels of lightweight 6mm polycarbonate sheeting, covering 12'x32'. It took two days to install. Though the installation of the mural was not unlike most sign installs, the Lemberg team did work closely with Richardson to make sure the holes drilled in the piece were done in a way that not only did not disrupt the art itself, but also didn't affect the integrity of the panels. In all, 144 screws were used to place the panels, each one predrilled and receiving a coat of touch-up paint to blend them into the art seamlessly.

Tia Richardson is a local community mural artist/author who has created pieces for several locations in the Milwaukee area, including the Brighten the Passage project. Her ethos is “connectedness” -- to bring people from disparate backgrounds and locations together through her art. Learn more about Richardson at her website www.cosmic-butterfly.com.
